ecofetti
I found Ecofetti on the internet recently. It is an eco-friendly alternative to confetti. Looks like snow... comes in lots of colors... water-soluble and biodegradable... washes away with the rain... great alternative to rice or birdseed. I haven't tried it yet, but you can get free samples here.
pretty cake
This cake by Carolyn Wong is beautiful! The details are so grand and elegant! A beautiful use of flowers flowing out of the top of the cake.

decor
i found this picture on theknot.com and fell in love with the simple elegance at this reception. The wooden lantern was an awesome addition!
wheatgrass
setting your wedding placecards on wheatgrass may be an excellent way to bring color and nature into your placecard arrangement at your wedding reception. the grass is sturdy enough to lay on top or you can slide the card between the blades to see more of the green color. it looks so fresh and clean. everyone will respond to your presentation.
logo history
I thought this was interesting from the Philadelphia Business Journal:
The Philadelphia 76ers unveiled their new primary logo and color scheme Tuesday, which is actually their old primary logo and color scheme.
The Sixers are returning to their “76ers basketball” logo and red, white and blue scheme last used during the team’s 1996-97 season. The color scheme, established in 1963, was used during the Sixers’ two championship seasons of 1966-67 and 1982-83.
“By bringing back this old Sixers’ logo, we are connecting the past with the future,” said Ed Snider, chairman of Comcast-Spectacor, which owns the Sixers. “This logo evokes memories of some of the franchise’s proudest moments.”Many brands are reverting back to their past. Here is a NY Times article about marketing in these economic times.

packaging
Our invites went out! I used a few different elements... love birds (for obvious reasons), olive branches (symbolizing peace and longevity, a few olive trees are over 2000 years old), the paper flowers (connecting the look of the save the dates), and our spiced wine and green colors.
Here is the save the date for reference...

invite | he must be a designer...
ah. I have to post this genius wedding invitation that I found at idiy. It was made by the groom himself (matt dorfman)! I'm impressed. Thoughtful and awesomely designed, it tells the couple's whole story.

what color are you
One of my favorite paper vendors is Paper Source. Today I was browsing the new papers and journals they have and I found this cool explanation of colors on their new blog. The colors that you are drawn to supposedly reflect your personality. See if its true! Click on the image to read the chart.
I was drawn to night and chartreuse...

idea | fall wedding
An idea for a fall wedding (ahem, kadie) ... tie beautiful colored leaves with raffia on the outside of tealights. Very simple! Put a few candles together to add some color and light to your tables or in the bathrooms.
victorian romance | sweet
Found these necklaces on simplesong (a cute blog). Created by Marquis & Camus and the collection is titled victorian romance. My favorite is the top right necklace... sweet, charming, and somehow chic.
prophecy creek
I was lucky enough to visit this old mansion located at Prophecy Creek in Whitpain Township. The public park is beautiful with two fountains, stone bridges, and well-kept grounds. It would be a perfect place for weddings and celebrations. The part that intrigued me the most was the sunken split front door. The molding is simple, yet elegant and the extra molding across the top of the door is not something you see everyday.
Reminds me of The Secret Garden. What a great place to take pictures!
